Epoch (W North Loop Blvd.)

Epoch is the first 24/7 coffee shop I found in Austin, so it holds a dear place in my heart. They had a very simple menu that has kept expanding the three or so years I have been visiting now. They have a very nice outdoor seating areas (that do allow smoking, even though I do not smoke). They also have plenty of outlets available no matter where you sit. It can get crowded though so it’s always a good idea to get there early.

Their selection of food, while limited, has some of my personal favorites available. for one, their cherry pie is to die for. They also carry some great sandwiches and pizza. The turkey provolone, with basil pesto is the one I like to get the most. Furthermore, their selection of milk substitutes is really nice because sometimes I’m in the mood for almond milk instead of coconut milk.

I really do not have anything negative to say about this place except for the fact that it is so far from San Marcos. I just love this place so much and I hate the fact that the drive can feel long on the way back when I’m tired. I still recommend that anyone who loves coffee should check out this place, because this is one of the few shops I love getting plain lattes without any kind of flavor. It also is super cozy if you can get a table near the wall. Finally, they have a sign that says “Heck Starbucks” and honestly, that is the kind of humor I need in my life.
